Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord,
As I’m sure you’ve heard, the State of Louisiana will remain in Phase 2 of reopening from the Coronavirus pandemic. Thankfully, Phase 2 allows us to have 250 people in church for Masses, while still wearing masks and practicing social distancing of at least six feet from anyone who does not live in the same household.
I am also thankful that we will be able to return fully to our regular sacramental schedule. Masses have been happening as normal for about 6 weeks now. But our confession schedule has been altered to allow for socially distant confessions. We have just completed a small renovation to the large confessional in the back of church. This renovation added a wall and ceiling to close in that room. Now that room has the sufficient privacy necessary to be used as a confessional. It also has enough size to allow at least six feet of space between the priest and the penitent and will allow for confession behind a screen or face-to-face. I encourage you to make frequent use of this powerful sacrament of mercy.
We will also now reinstate our Tuesday evening Holy Hour in Church from 6:00-7:00pm, as well as our 9:00am Mass on First Saturdays, with adoration following Mass until noon. In addition to these times of Adoration, we have begun several new times of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament following daily Masses on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 7:30am until 8:30am. Please join us to spend time with our Lord in the Eucharist. There is no better time or place for prayer than with the Real Presence of Jesus visible for us in the monstrance.
Please see the "Mass Times & Directions" button at the bottom right corner of the webpage for our normal liturgical schedule.
To Jesus through Mary,
Fr. Jonathan
